 About Betla National Park

Betla National Park is home to diverse flora and fauna, including tigers, elephants, and several species of deer,
making it an ideal destination for wildlife lovers. It is regarded as one of the best parks in eastern India for
observing wildlife at close quarters.

The park remains open throughout the year, but the best time to visit is between November and March
due to the pleasant climate. Betla is located about 25 km from Daltonganj, 70 km from Latehar, and 170 km from Ranchi.
It is well connected by both rail and road networks.

The nearest airport is Ranchi, situated around 180 km from Daltonganj and 195 km from Betla,
which serves as the tourist headquarters of the Palamu Tiger Reserve.
The Betla forest covers 226 square kilometres and has been declared Betla National Park,
while an additional 753 square kilometres has been designated as the Palamu Sanctuary.
The forest begins at Kechki and stretches all the way to Netarhat.
